System Safety Testing and Risk Assessment

Automated and electric swing and sliding gate installations, barriers, rising bollards and related items should receive full safety testing prior to final commission and handover, but also on a regular basis throughout operational life.(Testing is required to ensure correct safety devices, anti-crush and obstruction detectors are fitted and operating correctly, or have at least been recommended to ensure installations meet current EN and HSE machinery directives).

Safety testing and Risk Assessment should also be carried out on existing and inherited installations regularly and action taken where needed to upgrade systems to meet the highest safety standards.

Don't take the risk by cutting corners, ignoring the warnings and recommendations or by having installation work carried out by non-compliant trades and opting for the cheap price, leaving out essential safety devices to save money.

It's just not worth it and can be more costly in the long term.
